Kalofer

Kalofer is a unique mountain town accented by Bulgarian Renaissance architecture and native town of Hristo Botev. Kalofer is a town of strong traditions and local spirit, with many festivals. It is also a town with a large number of operational churches, monasteries, and chapels. Kalofer's living tradition is represented by its numerous craftspeople and the town is known for its woodcarving, artistic textiles, and most of all unique Kalofer lace.
Kalofer is birthplace of Hristo Botev - world revolutionary hero. Botev is a poet and fighter for freedom, great patriot.
